EuroQol Group developed a new EQ-5D-5L based on EQ-5D-3L to expect a less severe ceiling effect and improve the discriminatory power of mild health states. Measurement results of EQ-5D can be used to generate values by value sets. Up to present, Canada, Spain, Uruguay, England, Dutch and Korea have developed EQ-5D-5L value sets based on health preference of the native population. In this study, we introduced and compared the valuation study protocol, health states selection, sample estimation, data analysis and model results among six countries to provide reference for developing China value set of EQ-5D-5L.
