Abstract:Objective To clarify the relationship between Chinese economic income and health expenditure, providing advices for improving equity in health service. Methods Cluster analysis was conducted between economic income to the residents, total health expenditure, as well as per capita health expenditure as an indicator of the 31 provinces in China. Results Cluster analysis showed that health expenditure and income are not exactly the same, the government health policy, health resource allocation would have an impact on health costs, income is not the sole determinant of health expenses. Conclusion In order to improve equity of health services, recommendations are as follows: optimizing allocation of health resources , improving the government’s fiscal transfer payment system, various types of social medical insurance system, and actively raising social capital.
