Objective: This study aims to analyze the costs-benefits of CT device in secondary hospitals in China, with a view to provide information for overall economic management in hospitals as well as medical equipment configuration in areas. Methods: Two provinces were selected respectively from the eastern, central and western regions in China. Questionnaires were used to collect information about the past 5 years among 59 secondary hospitals, both economic and technical benefits are analyzed to evaluate the cost-benefit of CT device. Results: The investment recovery period of CT device in three areas are 2.5, 2.8 and 3.1 years; Benefit cost ratio are 1.9, 1.7and 1.7; the cost recovery rate are 186.48%, 171.95% and 174.09%. Conclusion: The economic benefits are much good in all three areas, but the technical benefits needs to be improved in the future.
