Abstract Objective: To describe pattern of the provider distribution of Guangxi TEH and provide information for Guangxi health resource allocation. Method: Using the method of THE by provider to estimate Guangxi TEH over 2007-2014, and using descriptive statistics to characterize the structure and trend of provider distribution of Guangxi TEH. Results: Compounded annual growth rate of TEH was higher than that of Guangxi GDP in 2007-2014. Most of health resource was distributed to medical institutions, but the proportion of the expenditure on basic medical institutions was comparatively low. And public health expenditure as a proportion of TEH decreased year by year. Conclusion: The imbalance in provider distribution of TEH was partly improved. Further investigations on government policies on medical institutions and public health service are needed, and function method would help to understand more on issues like how to establish rational compensation mechanism and how to use funding effectively.
